The Jerusalem Bible refers to a series of French translations of the Bible, produced under the direction of the École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem, with the support of the Dominican Order.
The project was coordinated by Dominican Father Thomas-Georges Chifflot, then literary director of Éditions du Cerf, in close collaboration with Roland de Vaux, director of the École Biblique. The translation, divided into 43 fascicles, mobilized a large group of specialists, including 33 exegetes and several university professors.
