Text in French.
Since it was written in the 15th century, this work has become a reference book. It is probably the most widely distributed text after the Bible! Written in Latin, it has been translated many times. Generations of Christians, clerics and lay people alike, have read it, learned from it and lived it, testifying to its value. They found it "pure flour", as St. Therese of the Infant Jesus used to say, always carrying her beloved Imitation with her.
It is precisely the text she had at her disposal that we reproduce here: the tried-and-tested translation by Abbé de Lamennais, with the meditations he wrote at the end of each chapter in 1828.
The book is beautifully presented, with a preface by Brother Yves-Marie du Très Saint Sacrement, o.c.d.
