A vintage-style votive candle glass holder, adorned with an illustration of Saint Joseph and Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal, created by Jacques Gagnier. The text on the back of the lantern glass briefly recounts the history of Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal and pays tribute to Saint Brother André, the founder of this pilgrimage site:

D’une petite chapelle de bois construite en 1904, l’Oratoire est devenu le plus important sanctuaire au monde dédié à saint Joseph.
Élevé en hommage au saint patron du Canada, l’Oratoire doit son origine à la foi profonde de saint frère André (Alfred Bessette, 1845-1937), canonisé le 17 octobre 2010 par le pape Benoît XVI. Réalisée en 1950 pour la revue L’Oratoire et de style fantaisiste, cette illustration est l’œuvre de Jacques Gagnier, artiste montréalais (1917-1970).

From a small wooden chapel built in 1904, the Oratory has become the largest shrine in the world dedicated to Saint Joseph. Erected in honor of the patron saint of Canada, the Oratory was built on the profound faith of Saint Brother André (Alfred Bessette, 1845–1937), canonized on October 17, 2010
by Pope Benedict XVI. Created in 1950 for *The Oratory* magazine, this whimsical illustration is the work of Montreal artist Jacques Gagnier (1917–1978).
