Text in French.
Carlo Acutis was a dynamic, cheerful and generous Italian boy with a passion for sport, mountains and culture. He played the saxophone and enjoyed detective films. What set him apart from his peers was his deep faith and his commitment to the underprivileged. He prayed the rosary, created websites, edited videos and designed comics to promote evangelism. His life was marked by a commitment to purity and sound morals. In October 2006, at the age of 15, he fell victim to fulminant leukemia, which put an end to his life. At his funeral, the church was too small to accommodate all those who had come to pay their respects, and his parents were moved to see an eclectic crowd among the mourners: the poor, foreigners, Buddhists, Muslims, the homeless... “Let's not make photocopies of our lives,” he used to say.
