Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) was born into an Italian family that did not practice the faith. From his first communion, he chose to live a union with Jesus, making this commitment the “purpose of his life”. Although he had an ordinary childhood and adolescence, he used his computer skills to promote the Gospel, creating a website on Eucharistic miracles before collaborating with the Vatican. Tragically, he died in a matter of days of fulminant leukemia, but not without having profoundly influenced those around him, leading them to a more lively and committed faith.
Today, devotion to this particularly charismatic young man, who left his mark on Italy, continues to spread in France and beyond.
As for the author, Jean-Luc Moens, married with children, he has been involved in evangelization within the Emmanuel Community for over 30 years. He was recently appointed by the Vatican as Moderator of Charis, the international organization of the Charismatic Renewal.
