The original French version of the book Un Mois avec Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel.
In 2015 we celebrated the 550th anniversary of the birth of St. Teresa of Avila.
St. Teresa entered Carmel at the age of 20. With St. John of the Cross, she founded the Order of Discalced Carmelites and reformed Carmel to return to the primitive rule that had become lax. Throughout her life she affirmed the essential character of prayer and taught us the path to holiness through meditation on the Passion and the Eucharist.
Benedict XVI said that "St. Teresa is a teacher for the faithful of all times in a society that is often poor in spirituality. She teaches us to be constant witnesses of God, of his presence and of his action.
Saint Teresa died in 1582. She was beatified in 1614 by Paul V, canonized in 1622 by Gregory XV and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1970 by Paul VI.
