THE VOTIVE CHAPEL

The votive chapel, located in the heart of Saint Joseph's Oratory, contains 10,000 votive candles as well as the the Ex-votos (canes, crutches, etc.) which are suspended between the pillars of the chapel. They call to mind the many graces, favors, and healing obtained through the intercession of Saint Joseph. The tomb of Saint Bother André rests in an alcove in the middle of the Votive Chapel.

THE SAINT ANDRÉ BESSETTE CHAPEL

Named in honour of the founder of the Oratory and inaugurated on March 7, 2013, the Saint André Bessette chapel features a display of electronic votive candles surmounted by an icon of Saint Brother André located in a peaceful place at the back of the chapel, looking towards the altar which contains a relic of Saint Brother André.

THE VIRGIN MARY AT THE FOOT OF MOUNT ROYAL

The Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus, occupies a special place in the life of Brother André. Moved several times throughout the history of the Oratory, since 2011, she welcomes pilgrims and visitors to the heart of the rock on which is built the shrine dedicated to her husband, Joseph. A display of electronic lanterns can be found at the foot of the statue of the Virgin Mary and the immense rock face of Mount Royal.

THE HEART OF SAINT BROTHER ANDRÉ

The heart of Brother André is the symbol of his love for God and of his compassion toward all the people who came to him. This beloved relic evokes the interior life and feelings which animated the holy religious in his ministry of welcome, compassion, and healing.
